The Albany Senior Center maintains up-to-date information on services available to seniors in Alameda County. Senior Services staff and volunteers are available to assist you with various social services requests such as health coverage, home health services, meals programs and housing assistance.
Meals on Wheels are delivered four days a week to homebound seniors. The food is delivered hot and is equivalent to a third of the recommended daily allowance. Enrollment required. Suggested donation: $4.00 per meal.

Brown Bag distributions are on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month between9:30 am -10:30 am. Members must have transportation and be present to pick up their bag of groceries.
Eligible resident must be 60 or older, and income eligible. All applicants must provide identification and proof of income at the time of registration. Membership must be renewed annually in July. Mercy Care Center's Brown Bag Program collects and distributes donated food to 1,500 income-eligible seniors twice a month at 12 sites in Alameda County. The Albany Senior Center is the designated site for the City of Albany.
The Mercy Care Center's Brown Bag Program provides free groceries to low-income seniors aged 60+ at the Albany Senior Center on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month, requiring proof of income and ID for annual registration.
