Below is information in preparation for and during a storm. For forecasts, please visit the National Weather Service website at www.weather.gov.
How to Prepare
- We encourage residents to check your surroundings, and help remove leaves and other debris around storm drains and other areas if you can do so safely. This helps minimize potential flooding.
- Sandbags are available at the Albany Fire Station, 1000 San Pablo Avenue. Sand for self-serve sandbags is available at Ocean View Park, 900 Buchanan Street. Please travel safely.
- Visit www.ready.gov for information on storm preparedness.

During a Storm, Please Avoid
- Traveling unless necessary.
- Creeks and other areas that may flood.
- Forested areas around trees and branches.
- Downed power lines. Assume all downed lines are energized. Report any downed lines by calling 911, then notify PG&E by calling 1-800-743-5000. Do not touch or drive over a downed power line
