Published on February 11, 2025
On February 8th, 2025, at approximately 10:11 PM, Albany Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on the 800 block of Buchanan Avenue. Officers saw in plain view what they believed to be signs of illicit drugs as well as brass knuckles. When questioned regarding additional weapons in the vehicle, the passenger at first denied there were any, but ultimately admitted he had a firearm in a bag that was sitting on his lap. Officers were able to safely remove the driver, passenger, and firearm from the vehicle. They located a loaded .45 caliber weapon, an additional loaded magazine, and numerous narcotics to include Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Oxycodone pills. The driver, an adult female resident of Vacaville, was cited and released on scene for drug and drug paraphernalia possession while the passenger, an adult male resident of Vallejo, was transported to Santa Rita Jail without incident.
