Parks, Recreation & Open Space Commission

The Parks, Recreation & Open Space (PROS) Commission advises the City Council on public recreation, parks, open spaces—including creeks, Albany Waterfront Park, and Albany Hill—street trees, parking strips, parkways, and similar areas in the City. The Commission works to create a master plan for parks, recreation, and open space, recommends playground sites to the Council, and advises on acquiring and maintaining playgrounds and recreation centers. It also helps guide the City Council on related matters and promotes collaboration between public and private groups to develop recreational facilities and programs that benefit all residents.
