The Community Development department is responsible for guiding the physical development of the City of Albany. This is achieved by preparing and implementing the General Plan and supporting ordinances; administering the development and building permit approval process, including the application of the Uniform Building Codes; design and construction control of public improvement projects; inspecting all in-progress construction projects; and enforcing adherence to the City's health, safety and environmental codes as they relate to the physical environment.
