Starting on January 2, 2024, the City of Albany partnered with Avenu Insights & Analytics to issue and maintain business licenses through an online portal. Updating accounts and making payments online will provide the flexibility to manage your account at your convenience.
Renewals
Renewal notices for 2025 have been issued starting on November 22, 2024. Follow the instructions on the notice to log in and file for the new year. The due date for the business license tax is January 31, 2025. Any payments received after that date will begin to incur late fees and penalties.
New applicants
You will need to register your business to generate an Avenu account number. Follow all prompts, and you will eventually be provided a checkbox to confirm your business is new to receive an Avenu account number.
