Annual Sidewalk Shaving - 2026

Published on July 20, 2026

The Annual Sidewalk Shaving Project is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 27 within Zone 1 of the City. Sidewalk shaving involves “shaving down” vertical offsets up to two inches in order to eliminate tripping hazards.

Marin Ave Pavement Rehabilitation - July 2026 Update

Published on July 17, 2026

Street paving and traffic striping were completed in May. In June, new signposts and stamped concrete at corners were installed. Asphalt and landscaping restoration at Carmel is scheduled for this month.

2026 Election: Nomination Period Open

Interested and qualified citizens of the City of Albany are encouraged to run for office for the Albany City Council (2 seats for 4-year term) or the Albany Unified School District Board of Education (3 seats for 4-year term and 1 seat for 2-year term). The nomination period is from July 13 through August 7 at 12:30 p.m.
